The recent armed robbery of Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is now being investigated as a potential part of a new L.A. crime ring, TMZ Sports reported on Tuesday.
Although the incident involving Caldwell-Pope occurred on June 17, it is only recently being connected to the attempted robbery of Fashion Nova CEO Rich Sagian on June 25, which ended in a deadly shootout.
According to TMZ, Caldwell-Pope was talking with friends on his driveway at 4:00 a.m. when three men armed men exited a car and demanded valuables from his home. The three men escaped with "about $150,000 worth of loot, including a Rolex, jewelry, and an iPhone," TMZ said.
The investigation of the link between the incidents at Caldwell-Pope's and Sagian's residences, as well as other robberies, remains ongoing.
Caldwell-Pope, who is under contract with the Lakers through 2023, has not publicly commented on the incident or its potential connection to other robberies.
